Fleur de Lis on Main to Host Outdoor Urban Art Event Kicking Off
Friday, December 1

LOUISVILLE, KY (November 22, 2006) – Fleur de Lis on Main, Downtown Louisville's premier new condominium home development, will host a ten-day outdoor graffiti art event kicking-off Friday, December 1, 2006.

In tandem with the December 1, 2006 First Friday Gallery Hop, Fleur de Lis on Main will sponsor "The Fleur de Lis on Main Urban Art Event" to celebrate the energy of Downtown Louisville's newest urban neighborhood and to mark the Grand Opening of the Fleur de Lis on Main Showroom.  Local graffiti artists, under the leadership of Jeral Tidwell, will be invited to create their own interpretations of "Fleur de Lis" and Louisville in an outdoor art venue.  For this event, the fence along the Fleur de Lis on Main construction site on Main Street will be covered with plywood boards and spotlights will be set up - creating nearly a block of art space and activity.

• On Friday, December 1, 2006, local and regional graffiti artists will be painting from 5:30pm - 8:30pm and will continue to paint and repaint the space for the ten days following.  Lighting will be provided for the December 1, 2006 event.
• On Friday, December 1, 2006, the Fleur de Lis on Main Showroom will be open for the general public as a great place to come and watch the artists in action during the First Friday Gallery Hop.  The Showroom is located on the third floor of nearby Preston Pointe, 333 East Main Street, Suite 308.  Refreshments will be served.
• On Friday, December 1, 2006, Old National Bank, located in Preston Pointe, 333 East Main Street, will also be open to the general public.  Old National is a sponsor for "The Fleur de Lis on Main Urban Art Event."
• From Saturday, December 2, 2006 through Sunday, December 10, 2006, Fleur de Lis on Main will host an "Open House" with the Showroom open from 10am - 5pm on weekends and 5pm - 8pm on weekdays or by appointment.  The Showroom is located on the third floor of nearby Preston Pointe, 333 East Main Street, Suite 308.

Fleur de Lis on Main Architect Henry Potter of Potter & Associates and partners Dale Boden, David Bowen, Paul Keith and Phil Scherer have been long time advocates of East Main Street and the area's residential potential.  Twenty years ago, Dale Boden, Henry Potter and Phil Scherer renovated Billy Goat Strut at 600 East Main Street and celebrated its opening by bringing New York graffiti artists to Louisville for a similar urban art project. The same team also developed Preston Pointe at 333 East Main Street in 2004.
